

Ann L. Scozzafava, a resident of Verplanck, NY passed away on March 27th, 2026. She was 79 years old. Ann was born in Yonkers, NY on July 27th, 1946 and was raised by the late Leo and Mildred Brundage in Ossining, NY for her first few years of her life. She then moved to Verplanck, NY where she grew up and later married John Scozzafava on April 19th, 1975. They had 3 children together.
Before her retirement Ann worked for over 30+ years with the Hendrick Hudson School District. She spent the bulk of her years at the Buchanan Verplanck Elementary School as a teachers aide and lunch monitor and finished her last couple of years at Frank G. Lindsay Elementary School. Ann was a girl scout troop leader in the 1980's through the early 1990's .She also was an avid member of the PTA. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Verplanck and later became a parishioner of the Assumption church in Peekskill. Ann donated to many charities like Wounded warriors, Susan G. Komen, and many animal charities to name a few. She enjoyed taking walks, the outdoors, gardening, reading and doing puzzles in her spare time. She also loved to crochet and made many blankets, scarves and other beautiful creations throughout her years for family and friends. She was a great baker and made countless cookies and holiday breads especially during Christmas which was her favorite holiday and time of year. She would sing to the Christmas songs and bake for friends and family. And loved to decorate the house for Christmas. There wasn't a holiday She didn't decorate for. She loved to meet new people and spend time chatting and having tea with friends. She also enjoyed talking on the phone and catching up with the latest in life.
She is survived by her oldest daughter Heather Scozzafava ( Keith Bleakley) their children/her grandchildren Jesse, Kaitlyn, Abby and Riley and her great granddaughter Carmella ( Jesse's daughter). Her son Louis Scozzafava and his wife Angela. Their children/ her grandchildren Salvatore, Liam, Guiliana "Gigi" and Gavin. And her youngest daughter Tina Scozzafava and her children/ Ann's grandchildren Paulie Alexander III and Alanah "Nana" Jenkins.
She is predeceased by her husband John Scozzafava.
Visitation will be held at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548, US, on April 8, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1969 Crompond Rd, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567 on April 9, 2026, at 10:15 am. Interment to follow will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Broadway, Verplanck, NY 10596.
