

Anne Marie Moro, beloved resident of Montrose, NY, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on September 16, 1932, in West Point, NY, Anne was the cherished daughter of the late Anna (Affeltranger) and William James Reilly.
A standout student, Anne was named Valedictorian of her Highland Falls High School Class of 1950. After high school, she worked as a secretary to the Adjutant General at the United States Military Academy at West Point, continuing a family tradition of service to West Point spanning three generations. Anne excelled in executive positions at prominent organizations, including IBM TJ Watson Research, PepsiCo, and the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Anne went on to marry and raise three children, eventually settling down in Montrose, NY. She is survived by her loving partner, Bill Kelly, and her three children: Lisa M. Moro, Susanne M. Martin (Paul Martin), and Robert Moro. Her children are eternally grateful for the grace and dignity with which she faced life’s challenges, serving as a profound example of strength and resilience.
She is also remembered with deep affection by her grandchildren: Christina M. Auth, Russell J. Auth (Morgan), Nicholas Martin, Grace M. Martin, Robert W. Moro Jr., Henry W. Moro, and Jane L. Moro; and baby Penelope, will carry forward the legacy of her great-grandmother’s love and kindness, learning about her through the stories and values she left behind.
Anne was an active member of the Cortlandt Senior Club and enjoyed a vibrant array of hobbies, including ballroom and square dancing, playing the piano, and painting with watercolors. Her zest for life and artistic spirit touched all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 4-8 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Christopher’s Church, Buchanan, NY, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10 AM, with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Anne will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing and her legacy of love and grace continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Following the Burial at 1:00 pm, the family will be having a reception at Terra Rustica Ristorante Italiano, 550 North State Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510.
