Gildo L. Radassao, a longtime resident of Montrose, NY, passed away on October 25, 2023. He was 85. Gil was born on April 12, 1938 in Peekskill, NY to the late Angelo and Antoinette (Gioia) Radassao. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He attended the Academy of Aeronautics for aircraft mechanics from 1961-1964 in LaGuardia Airport. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 1967-1968 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was a corporate pilot and retired at the age of 62. He married his beloved wife, Nancy McIntyre, in 1961, she passed away in December of 1980. As of 1985 until his passing, he spent many rich rewarding years with his long time companion, Linda Diaferia. He liked to cook, an avid lover of cats, member of the ELKS Club of Peekskill, NY and a member of Westchester Aircraft Maintenance Association. After a career of traveling, he enjoyed spending time locally especially Upstate New York. In his earlier days, he liked to work on older cars and go hunting.
He is survived by his son Ronald; his brother Angelo and his nieces Christine O’Neil, Deidre Price and Jean Radassao.
He was predeceased by his sister Doris (Nathaniel) Johnson and his brother Raymond.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th from 2-5pm with a prayer service at 4:30pm at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd. Montrose, NY 10548. Interment will be scheduled at a later date at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
