Helen J. Scheuber

Helen J. Scheuber, a longtime resident of Montrose, passed away on April 28, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born July 20, 1923 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Thomas and Anna Humble. Locally she worked as a Chauffeur for the Hendrick Hudson School District, for many years volunteered at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, former member of the Hospital Auxiliary as well as a lector and organist at St. Patrick's Church. She is survived by her children Gerard W. Scheuber, Nancy Jackson, Jo Anne Posca, one sister Maria Dalton as well as seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her Husband William as well as her sisters Virginia Steele, Nora Matamores and her brother Thomas Humble. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at the E. F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM on Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, Verplanck. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Montrose, NY.
