Laurie Jeanice Small of Buchanan, NY passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Laurie was born to Carl and Joan (Van Til) Van Dyke on November 20, 1960 in Yonkers, NY. Laurie worked as a secretary for the Hendrick Hudson School District for 34 years and served as president several times for the Hendrick Hudson Educational Secretaries Association. Laurie also served on the Cedar Hill Cemetery Committee since it formed 25 years ago.
Laurie is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, William Small, cherished son William Small (Victoria) and adored granddaughters, Cyana and Reese. She is also survived by her father Carl Van Dyke, sisters Judith Rotella (John) and Jill Achacoso (Rolando) and brother Mark Van Dyke (Bree) as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Laurie was predeceased by her mother Joan Van Dyke and daughter Christina Marie Small.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4-8PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, August 27th at the Reformed Church of Cortlandtown, Montrose, NY with burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery also in Montrose.
