Robert Albert Hemsing, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away on May 8, 2024, in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. He was born on April 16, 1942, in the Bronx, NY, to Paul and Edith (Seelbach) Hemsing.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Genevieve (Walsh) Hemsing, and his brother Paul Hemsing. He is survived by his loving wife Ann Therese (Powers) Hemsing.
Robert will be dearly missed by his children Kathleen Fucheck (Gregory) and Robert Hemsing (Anne), as well as his step-children William Horan (Felice), and Amy Geoghegan (Matthew). He leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance to his grandchildren: Margaret, Gregory Jr., and Thomas Fucheck; Allison, Jillian, and Robert Hemsing; Julian and Simone Horan; and John, Edward, and Keri Geoghegan.
In addition to his immediate family, Robert is survived by his brother-in-law John Walsh (Judy) and several nieces, and nephews.
Robert was the owner and operator of Dooley Electric Co. out of Brooklyn, NY, where he dedicated himself to providing quality service to his community. He also served as a Trustee and Parish Council President of St. Christopher & St. Patrick’s Church, demonstrating his deep commitment to his faith and community. Furthermore, he was a Past President of the Kolping Society, where his leadership and dedication made a lasting impact.
Robert loved to travel with his family, and vacations to Europe, Hawaii, Australia, Egypt, Alaska and the many holidays at Disney World are precious memories that will be treasured forever. Above all was spending time with family and friends in his beloved beach home in Montauk that Robert so cherished. He was an incredibly loving, and kind husband, father and grandfather and enormously generous to his family, friends and the entire community.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 4-8 PM at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home located at 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, NY, followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck, NY.

Robert's warmth, kindness, and dedication to his family and community will be cherished and remembered always. May he rest in peace.
