Charlene J Johnson

Charlene J. Johnson was born on June 26,1947. Charlene was the first born of eight children born to Dr. Charles J. Johnson and Mattie Belle Johnson in Washington, D.C., who both preceeded Charlene in death.

Charlene's brothers and sisters whom she leaves to celebrate her life and legacy are her sister Ernestine, her sister Shirleyne (her husband Russell, who both proceeded Charlene in death), her sister Gloria Jean (Mae) (her husband Thomas, who preceeded Charlene in death), her brother Charles and wife Evelyn, her brother Gregory, her sister Darlene and husband Darrow, and her sister Zacharene (who preceded Charlene in death).

Charlene began walking with Lord in her youth. She spent time in a Catholic church for a season. She then spent many years at New Antioch, COGIC, and Page Temple, COGIC, fulfilling her call from the Lord.

Charlene's work career included supervision at Western Union and she continued the remaining of her professional career as a Probation Officer for the County of Los Angeles.

Charlene met and married her best friend Laymon Johnson in June 1982. They were happily married for a total 36 years. No children were born from this union. (Her husband Laymon preceeded her in death.)

Charlene also leaves to celebrate her life, a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and a host of special friends and loved ones. She also leaves four (4) very close friends and God sisters Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis, Virginia, Dorothy, and Kathleen. (Kathleen Kendrick preceeded Charlene in death).
