Edward Figueroa Jr., at the age of 66, went home to our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, April 19th 2024, in Moreno Valley Ca. He is reunited with his parents Edward Figueroa Sr. and Raquel Figueroa, his sister Francis Brazil, daughter Lynned Figueroa and grandson Vincent Figueroa. He is survived by his wife Madelyn Figueroa, son Edward Figueroa III, daughter-in-law Sonia Figueroa, daughter Dominique Figueroa and grandchildren Edward Figueroa IV, Irene and Sofia Guzman.
Ed was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 16, 1957. He was the oldest of four children. He grew up in Redondo Beach, CA, where he graduated from Aviation High School in 1975. He excelled in football, wrestling and track and field.
After seeing Madelyn for the first time, Ed told his family he was going to marry her; and he did on January 8, 1979. In 1988, they relocated to Moreno Valley to be close to his parents and raise their 3 children. Ed worked for the Moreno Valley Unified School District as a Campus Supervisor for 16 years. He was a hardcore Jets fan who loved his wife’s cooking and spending time with his family. He was a protective, loving father and grandfather.
This past year, Ed reconnected with his faith and proclaimed his love and devotion for Jesus Christ. His firm belief in God and love for his family supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Psalms 23:4 “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Revelations 21:4 “And God will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
We will always remember him for the man he was and the love he showed for his family. He will be greatly missed!
A Memorial Service for Edward will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Miller-Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92553, followed by a Reception from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
