On March 27, 2026, the angels came for Ronald Lee “Frog” Johnson, gently setting him free from pain and granting him eternal rest.
Ronnie was a devoted father to Nicolette Molo Elmore, Ro-Lee Sylvester, Shauna Vedol, and Jamison Vedol. He was a proud grandfather to Salvadore Francois Jr., Tori “Toy” Sylvester, Ceyonce Molo, C’nia Elmore, and Ny’ayla Harris, and a loving great-grandfather to Ce’mani Molo and Eli Francois.
He was a cherished brother to Edwin Johnson, Frank Smith, Carlos Johnson, Everette Johnson, Johnny Smith, and Joelette Williams, and a beloved nephew to Olivia Steele and Richard Steele. Ronnie also shared a special and devoted bond with his dear friend, Amy Navarro.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Smith, Francis Smith (sister), brothers, and a host of aunts and uncles.
A man of many talents, Ronnie was known as a skilled handyman, mechanic, gardener, carpenter, and lifelong explorer. He had a deep love for the outdoors, whether tending to yard work, repairing small motors, or discovering hidden treasures—earning him the affectionate comparison to Sanford and Son by his daughter/son. He enjoyed watching old westerns and war movies and found joy in the simple things in life.
More than anything, Ronnie will be remembered for his generous spirit and willingness to help others. There was never a time he wouldn’t show up for someone in need or lend a helping hand to a neighbor. His presence in the community was a blessing, and his kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He often shared his unique wisdom with a smile, reminding those around him: “Wooden nickels don’t spend.”
Ronnie’s legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
May he rest in power, and may his journey in the afterlife be filled with eternal light, love, and comfort.
