Jason was born on April 14, 1975 in Visalia, CA and grew up in the Central Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains. As a young teenager, he moved to Morgan Hill with his family. There he met his future wife, Julie Gieselman, just before graduating from Live Oak High School in 1993.
Following graduation Jason took classes at San Jose City College while establishing himself in the commercial construction industry. In 2000 he joined his father’s company, Bay Tool and Supply and has managed the San Francisco office for the past nine years. He found his work rewarding, greatly enjoying his colleagues and customers.
Jason was a dedicated Bay Area sports fan, a passion he got from his father and grandfather and was passing down to his children… Go Giants! …Go 49ers! …Go Warriors! …Go Sharks!
In addition to sports, Jason loved the outdoors: camping, biking, water skiing, or just being by the lake. He spent many hours at the gym and more recently developed a fondness for cooking for his family. His incredible stuffed hamburgers and BBQ ribs cannot be replicated as his recipes came from his heart.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Julie Gowett and their children, Jessica and Jackson; his brother Kyle Gowett and his parents, Rod and Melinda Gowett.
He had a generous heart, great sense of humor and treasured his family and friends. Jason will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be held at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 366 Saint Julie Dr. San Jose, California on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
