Maria Gallard

Born in Granada, Nicaragua to Dr. Francisco Domingo Jarquin and Lucrecia Cuadra, passed away peacefully at her home in Morgan Hill, CA, surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Fernando Abel Gallard, her only child Yvette Gallard-Mockey, son-in-law Frank T Mockey Jr., grandson Reece Paul, granddaughter Nicola Juliana and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria Auxiliadora was always a happy person that enjoyed socializing with friends and family and a person that was prompt to take in her home many nephews that came throughout the years to study at the universities around the Bay Area; giving them her love as if they were her own....Auxiliadora immigrated to Los Angeles , CA in March 1961 and by a coincidence, Abel was there at the airport that day - as they knew each other because their families were friends, very soon after they started dating, culminating on their getting married on January 6, 1962 and like we always like to say, the rest is history. Our dear, dear wife, mother and grandmother is now at peace in the arms of Jesus and his mother the Virgin Mary Auxiliatrix.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey St., Morgan Hill, on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, from 5 to 9pm, with a vigil service to commence at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Church, 17400 Peak Ave., Morgan Hill, on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at 10:00 am. The family extends sincere gratitude for the compassion and care given by Hospice of the Valley during Maria's illness. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
