Robert N. Wood lost his battle with cancer at the young age of 72. Robert was born on September 4, 1942. Robert grew up in San Martin and lived the majority of his life in Morgan Hill. Robert died on Monday, July 27, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Robert worked 36 years for Ironworkers Local 377. He began farming hay in San Martin at the age of 12 and has never stopped working. Robert will be remembered as an iron worker, cattleman and hay grower. Robert always enjoyed telling a good story. There wasn't anything Robert didn't know the answer to and if he wasn't sure he would look it up and learn about it so he could tell people about it. Robert had a knack for fixing old trucks and figuring things out on his own. He enjoyed meeting the guys at Betsy's every morning to get his day started.
Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lucille Wood; son Morgan Wood and daughter-in-law Natalie Wood; daughter Tausha Tucker, son-in-law Curtiss Tucker, daughter Sheri Byrum; son-in-law Clint Byrum. He is survived by his 7 beautiful grandchildren; Christina, Julia, Jessica, Christian, William, Ava and Johnny. Robert also leaves his brother David Wood, sisters Kathy Laucher (Wood); Cecile Leguillon (Wood) and Vicky Baird (Greig) and of course his sidekick Louie as well as many close friends.
