

Aline was born in Burke County, to the late William Atwood Powell and Annie Garden on March 11, 1944.
Aline worked many years in knitting until she retired, she attended Olive Hill High School and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Aline was a unique person she always loved helping people, playing bingo, and most of doing crosswords puzzles.
In addition to her parents William Powell and Annie Garden Powell, Aline was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene Avery, son Fred Avery Jr., sister, Ethel Marie Davis, and a very special friend Charles “Rock” Carter.
Those left to cherish her memoires is her loving sister, Will Ann Fleming, children; Virginia Ann Avery, Sharon Melissa “Lisa” Avery, Mary Alice Avery and special friend Dennis Moore, grandchildren; Dajuan Avery (Candie), Latisha Marlene Avery, William Shane Avery, Terrell Avery and special friend Tamara Fleming, great grandchildren; Dashawna Hall, Dajuan Jamale Avery, and Dayson Avery and Bryson Avery, great great grandchildren; Nash Morrison, and Brayton Avery, nieces; Lola Fleming, Barbara Cole, Terry Fleming, nephews; Charles "Buddy" Fleming, Tony Powell, Ricky Powell, and Roger “Den” Powell, along with a host of great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held 3: 30 p.m. Thursday, September 02, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church of Morganton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
