Charles Chapman

Mr. Charles Robey Chapman, 68, of Morganton, passed away, Thursday, April 19, 2012. Born August 11, 1943, in Burke County, he was a son of the late Cicero Chapman and survived by his mother, Mattie Epley Chapman, of Morganton. Mr. Chapman was a member of the McDowell Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed all sports, including fishing and was a NASCAR fan.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, along with his mother, his loving wife, Jo Ann Harlee Chapman, of the home;

Two sons, Brett Chapman, of Greensboro and Bart Chapman, of Morganton;

A daughter, Brooke Puett and Fiancé, John Bradley, both of Morganton; a sister, Nancy Small, of Morganton;

Four grandchildren, Alex & Hannah Chapman and Ashley & Kaitlyn Puett;

And a niece, Beth McGee and a special friend, Norris Tessener.

Funeral Services for Mr. Chapman will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2012, in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, with the Reverend Dennis Carswell officiating. Interment will follow at the McDowell Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Chapman’s memory to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
