Harvey Leroy Poole

Harvey Leroy Poole, Sr., 62, of Morganton went to his Heavenly reward on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Magnolia Lane Nursing Facility. Harvey was born in Burke County North Carolina on July 12, 1957 to the late Leroy Jack Poole and Beatrice Marie Conley Poole.

Mr. Poole graduated from Freedom High School where he was star football player. After graduating from Freedom he immediately joined the U.S. Army and served his country for 12 years before returning home because of an injury he sustained while serving. While at home Harvey decided to attend college at Appalachian State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Harvey also taught as East Burke High School and also in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Harvey never met a stranger his smile and laughter will be remembered by all of his friends and relatives. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle while was able to do also.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Neal Poole.

He leaves to mourn his passing one sister who took care of him at home and in the nursing facility Clarissa Poole (Lee), son; Harvey Leroy Poole, Jr., of Germany, daughter; Clarissa Marie Poole, granddaughter; Ni'Ziah and Lyric Poole, aunt; Ida Jean Carter (Robert) uncles; Walter Poole (Cynthia) William "Bill" Conley (Cathleen), Thomas Conley of High Point, NC and a host of cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be Friday, April 17, 2020 at Shiloh AME Church
