Henry Alexander Surratt

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Surratt on March 7th, 2025. Born on April 22, 1953, in Burke County, NC, Henry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Henry was the devoted husband of Brenda Rosby Surratt, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. He was a loving father to three children: Rey Howell, Laverne "Kitty" Howell, and Kanika Jackson. His legacy also includes ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He is remembered fondly by his siblings: Linda Marvin, Brenda Surratt, Trudy Surratt, Deborah Surratt, Hurbert Surratt, and Chris Surratt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Surratt and Bertha Shade Surratt, as well as his brother, Herbert Surratt, and sister, Wanetta Surratt Carpenter.

Henry passed away peacefully at Autumn Care in Drexel. He was a kind, gentle soul, known for his laughter and generous spirit. His warmth touched everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Our family will forever hold him in our hearts and treasure the memories we have shared. Henry will always be remembered for the joy he brought into our lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Henry's memory. A private family service will be held at a later date.
