James Reed McFarland

Paw Paw is survived by his children, Kenneth McFarland (Doris), Debbie Buff, and Linda McFarland in addition to his sisters, Doris Jones, Jean Hill and his brother, Bill McFarland. Paw Paw also has 10 grandchildren: Kendra Arrowood (David), Haze McFarland (Kelly), Tonya Scott (Brandon), Allison Buff, Charles Alan McFarland (Joey), Michael McFarland (Sarah), James McFarland (Dre), Joe Miller (Kasey), Jennifer Miller (Randy), Jamie Miller – 16 great grandchildren: Colton Arrowood (Brittanni), Morgan Bunton (Jesse), Anna Crawley, Giles Crawley, Ali McFarland, Addy Scott, Trent McFarland, Brooke McFarland, Avery McFarland, Ansley McFarland, Abby McFarland, Charlie Rose McFarland, Chandler Cohoon, Patience Giron (Josh), Caleb Dunbar (Brianna), Shianne Eddins – and 1 great-great grandchild, Matty Dunbar.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Reed McFarland and Eliza McNeely McFarland, his wife of 65 years, Jean “Maw Maw” McFarland, brother Johnny McFarland and sister Betty Whisnant, son, Charles McFarland, grandsons, Shawn Biddix and Lucas Buff, and great grandson, Cade Arrowood.

In addition to working in the furniture industry for most of his life, Paw Paw loved spending time with his family, watching westerns, traveling with his wife, and hunting.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Saturday (8/4) at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton, NC with funeral services officiated by Rev. Eddy Bunton following.
