Mable Fleming Caldwell

Mable Fleming Caldwell, age 90, of Morganton, died Monday April 22, 2013 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born in Burke County on December 24, 1922 to the late Ed Caldwell and Elizabeth Fleming. Mable was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was retired from Southern Device and a member of New Hope In Christ Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four grandchildren; Buford Sanders, Elnora Sanders, Nathan Sanders, Rodney Johnson and a great grandchild, T.J. Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory include five sons, Ralph Caldwell of Morganton, John Caldwell of Morganton, Linnie Caldwell of Cincinnati, Ohio, William Caldwell of Morganton and Waymon Caldwell of Morganton; three daughters, Georgia Sanders of Cincinnati Ohio, Laura Peterson of Morganton and Louise Caldwell of Morganton; 50 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral service to celebrate Mable’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday April 27, 2013 at New Hope In Christ Baptist Church with Pastor Max Bristol officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM prior to the service at the church.
