

Michael was born on July 4, 1961 in Youngstown, OH to Ronald and Betty (Dowdy) Evans. A graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S. in 1979; he than enlisted in the Navy. It was in his four years with the Navy he became a welder and met his wife, Theresa (Miller) Evans. Together they had two children, April (Floyd) Gable of New Lexington, OH and Steven (Amy) Evans of Morganton, NC.
After returning to Youngstown with his family, Michael worked as a welder for Thomas Strip Steel in Warren, OH for many years. Then following a lifelong dream, moved to Morganton to open a welding business. He was a 20 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Columbiana, OH.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean, and a brother, Stephen.
Those left behind to cherish Michael's memory include his wife of 35 years; two children; four grandchildren, Michael, Steven Adelaide, Phillip and Cecelia; his father, Ronald Evans of Morganton; a brother, Ronald J Evans of Warren, OH; many other loving family members and close friends.
Michael was a hard working and loving man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and riding his Harley's. He always was one to lend a helping hand or tell you how he felt. Michael had a love for life and his smile could light up a room.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with Military Honors and Masonic Rites to follow. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests monetary donations to be made to and Ronald McDonald House or the South Mountain Children's Home in memory of Michael.
