

Opal Ruth Baynard Freeman, of Morganton, beloved wife and mother, was received into the loving arms of God on December 8, 2015. A native of Avery County she was born October 11, 1938 to the late Joe Lee Baynard and Anna Mae McGuire. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Edward Freeman.
She was a devout Christian, and a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church of Morganton. She was a generous kind hearted woman who was loved and respected by her family.
She is survived two sons, David Edward Freeman and his wife, Sandra of Cornelius and Joseph Allen Freeman and his wife Julie of Greenvielle, SC.; six grandchildren, Jason Edward Freeman and his wife Anita, Melissa Anna Renae McGee and her husband Marshall, Cameron Scott Freeman, Elizabeth Jo Freeman, Jason Lee Sides and his wife Jennifer and Carrie Elizabeth Sides; 10 great grandchildren, Caleb, Savannah Opal, Abigail, Brandon, Christan, Taylor, Tucker, Raven, Kalie and Jessica; two sisters, Audrey Naomi Williams and Linda Poe and her husband Bill; two brothers, Joe Lee Baynard, Jr. and his wife Frances of Morganton and Ward Lee Noland and his wife Suzanne; two half-sisters, Jo Anne Baynard Cash and her husband Ronnie Cash and Joyce Baynard; and two half-brothers, Tommy Lee Baynard and Kenneth Ray Baynard and his wife Jean.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Bible Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Watkins Officiating. The family will receive friends from1 to 3 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
