He was born June 9, 1955 in Burke County to Paul Edward and Loucilla Keller Stamey.
He was preceded in death by his sister Marie Stamey Morgan.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 29 years Frances Stamey Scronce; his son Daniel Lee Stamey of Oak Harbor, WA; a granddaughter Hailey Marie Stamey; his sister Shelia Bolick and husband Ricky; his brother Tony Stamey and wife Crystal; a brother-in-law Alvin Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 1 PM to 3 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home.
The funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 3 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
