Randy Keith Skelton

Red was born to late James Skelton and Mary Jo Hodge Skelton on May 26, 1958 in Gaston County. After his father’s passing, Red’s mother married Arnold Stephenson. Red’s new aunt, Marie Stephenson, also assisted in his raising.

Along with his parents, stepfather and aunt, Red is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stephenson; a grandson, Joseph Skelton; and a sister, Mary Stephenson.

Those left behind to cherish Red’s memory include his lovely wife, Michele Skelton; three sons, Randy “Little Keith” Skelton, Jr., Michael “Wacky” Skelton and Bo “Diddle” Cook; two daughters, Linda “Sissy” Skelton and Ashley Walters; two brothers, Clinton “Old Man” Stephenson and Richard “Pig” Stephenson; two sisters, Brenda “Brenda Lu” Purkey and Ruth “Rudy” Lyons; seven grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and the friends that became as close as brothers, Michael Barrett, Randy Shavers, Rick Norman, Keith Church and Tim Robbins. Red is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
