Reuel Lafayette Buchanan

Born February 14, 1940 in Avery County, NC, Reuel was a son of Pearl Clarke Buchanan and the late Addie Fate Buchanan. He was an army veteran and a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and going to drag races with his family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Crump Buchanan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, two daughters, two brothers, four sisters; his grandchildren, Adam, Robert, Hubert, Patricia, Kenneth, Richard, Samantha, Trevor, Brandon and Brandi; he is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

A celebration of Reuel’s life was held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Woody officiating. Interment took place at the River Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the National Guard and Caldwell County Honor Guard.
