Ruby Louise McGalliard

Ruby Louise McGalliard, 81, of Morganton, passed away, Wednesday, November 30, 2011, while at Hospice of Burke County & Palliative Care Center. Born April 29, 1930, in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Bartlett and Leona Callahan Bartlett. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale McGalliard. Mrs. McGalliard was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

She is survived by her former husband, Carl Ivey McGalliard of Ocean Isle, NC; a son, Carl Wayne McGalliard and his wife Linda McGalliard of Morganton; and a daughter-in-law, Denna McGalliard of Drexel. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Christopher Wayne McGalliard, Andrew Wayne McGalliard and Ryan Wayne McGalliard.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Mrs. McGalliard’s life will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2011, in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, with the Reverend Mike Costner officiating. The family will gather at the residence, 1301 Independence Trail, Morganton, following the Services at the Funeral Home.
