Vickie Lynn (Futten) Bartley

Vickie (Futten) Bartley, 69, of Morganton, NC, left us surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from natural causes. Vickie was born in Compton, CA on August 11,1952 but spent the next 18 years of her life in Morgantown, WV. She was the daughter of the late Betty Jo Snyder and Donald Earl Snyder.

Vickie spent most of her life living on the Outer Banks of NC where she met a lot of wonderful people. She was the General Property Manager for the Stan White Realty office in Nags Head for many years and helped many families with their vacations. After leaving Stan White Realty, Vickie and her son, John, were the owners of Jim Bartley Builders LLC, and managed HOAs and Timeshares Resorts for 10 years. In 2014, Vickie moved to Morganton where she was able to enjoy time with her family and always made sure they were taken care of. She loved crafting, writing books and motorcycling with her special friend Donald Libby. She was also a Member of Christian Motorcyclists Association.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Bartley and her brother Donald (Bud) Futten.

Vickie is survived by her children John (Thuy) Aitken and Tiffany (Steve) Sergis; grandchildren, Amber (Ronny) Barela, Brittany Aitken, Ciara Aitken, Darron Aitken,Sydney (Stuart) Gunner and Catie (Mason) Dean; great grandchildren, Lily Barela, Jaxson Wentz and Gemma Aitken; a dear friend, Donald Libby; a sister, Debra (Charles) Adams; a brother, Dr. Christopher (Renee) Snyder; her nephews, Cameron Belldina and Tanner Belldina; a niece, Carys Snyder; and her beloved dogs, Bebe and Bali Blue.

In honor of Vickie’s wishes, Pastor John White of FAM Church of Morganton will bless her ashes. Per her request, there will be no funeral service but we invite you to please privately celebrate Vickie’s memory in your own way. She will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
