

Yates Allen Kincaid, 73, of Morganton, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born on October 18, 1938 in Burke County, he was the son of the late Alvin Carson Kincaid and Beulah Bradshaw Kincaid.
Mr. Kincaid worked for the Western Youth Correctional Institute for 23 years. He had a passionate hobby of baking cakes. He loved and cherished his family and enjoyed his special time with his grandchildren in which he carried a special bond with each one of them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Fannie Conley, Irene Wilkins, Willie Mae Ellis, Ophelia Kincaid, Josephine Johnson and Marie Connelly; and his brothers, Melvin Kincaid, Ned C.R. Kincaid, C. Phillip Kincaid and Robert Lee Kincaid.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Barbara Harbison Kincaid; daughters, Daphne K. Beam and her husband, Maurice of Morganton and Zinetta K. Gibbs and her husband, Tracy of Morganton; grandchildren, Pvt. Kelvin Maurice Beam, Jr., Ethan Alexander Kincaid, Zachary Emil Beam, Raymond Maurice Beam, Natalie Danora Beam and Trevor Gibbs; special grandson, Chiareek Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Service to Celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Valdese with the Reverend Kenneth Falls, the Reverend Francis Tate and the Reverend Herbert Carter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive prior to the service from 2:00-2:30 p.m. at the church.
