Bertha M. Hale Jones, age 86, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Heritage Center. She attended and was a founding member of Lakemoore Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jones; parents, George and Della Hale; daughter, Charlotte Jones Cole; brothers, Rufus, Cephas and James Hale; and sisters, Ermma Perry, Irene Gray and Emma Jean Palmer. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Brenda Jones; sister, Georgia Wright of Florida; grandchildren, Stuart (Kelly) Cole, Tony (Judy) Cole, Mark (Tracy) Jones; great-grandchildren, Charla and Jonas Cole, Jacob Cole, Brieannah and Bryce Jones; many nieces and nephews; and all of her church family. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. with Bishop Robert Carpenter officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the services from 5 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Lakemoore Church of God of Prophecy.
