Dixie Pearl Pemberton Ruffner, born to Henry and Irene Williams Pemberton on October 25, 1925 in Clinton, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bob Gouge in Morristown, TN. She was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Lee Ruffner; parents; son, Marshall Franklin Ruffner; brothers, Henry Okel, Glen, twin brother, Damen Paul, Kenneth “Willie”, Tom Pemberton; and sister, Polly Dillehay. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Bob) Gouge; granddaughter, Aimee (Tim) Howerton; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Kaden Howerton; daughter-in-law, Pam Ruffner; sisters-in-law, Dot Ruffner, Peggy Pemberton, and Louise Pemberton.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Keith Mowery presiding. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Green Hills Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
