Gary Pierson Scantlebury, age 45, of Bean Station, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016. He worked at Sextons Furniture for five years and was a member of Noeton Baptist Church. Gary had a love of singing a variety of music and enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed watching motorcycle races, as well as riding motorcycles. Survivors include his children, Justin (Candace) Emery, Micheal Emery, Zachary Scantlebury, Chase Scantlebury, and Trista Scantlebury; parents, Ronald and Joyce Scantlebury; siblings, Robin McCoombs and Eric Scantlebury; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Noeton Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow. Rev. Scott Howerton will officiate. Interment will follow in Noeton Church Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stubblefield Funeral Home.
