June was born on January 14, 1940 to parents Dana W. Love (LTC USA, Ret) and Marie Love in Charleston, SC. She grew up in Johnson City, TN, attended Milligan College, and graduated from Memphis State University. She married Roy A. Zeigler on April 25, 1964, enjoying 53 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2017, and retired from a long career with the Social Security Administration. After her retirement, she continued to enjoy time with her family, volunteering at her church in many areas including the Missions Ministry and Music Ministry, cheering for the Lady Vols basketball team both in person and on TV, cross stitching, bragging about her grandchildren and supporting conservative political candidates across the country.
Survivors include her son, Benjamin W. Zeigler and his wife, Melissa, of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Caleb Benjamin Zeigler of Greensboro, NC, and Gabrielle Elizabeth Zeigler of Lynchburg, VA, and Gabrielle’s fiancé, Landon Fielder. Her close family includes her brother, Dana Love Jr (LTC USA, Ret) (Beatrice) of Mt Pleasant, SC; her cousin, Linda Putnam (Mark) of Sevierville, TN; and her sister-in-law, Ann Hutcheson (Douglas) of Olympia, WA. June’s lifelong friends include Jackie Frazier, Susan Hawks and Natalie Barfield.
