

God called for His angel, Mr. Lewis S. Davis, on Monday, February 21, 2022. Lewis was born on December 6, 1965, to Rev. Albert and Doris Davis. Lewis served in the United States Navy for 23 years. During his service to our country, his calls of duty included Pensacola, Florida, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Balboa, California, Clarksville, Indiana, Washington, D.C., and Cairo, Egypt. He and his family returned stateside to Maryland in 2002. On June 30, 2004, Lewis retired from the United States Navy. After retirement, Lewis earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and subsequently, a Master of Science Degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University. Lewis began his civilian career at the Washington Hospital Center. He later accepted a position at the United States Pentagon in Managed Care. Lewis was currently employed as an Acquisition and Procurement Specialist with the United States Department of Homeland Security - US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Lewis is preceded in death by his mother, Doris V. Davis; mother-in-law, Josephine Simpson; father-in-law Murrell T. Simpson; grandparents, Henry and Lou Tate, Rev. Ernest and Freedie Davis; aunts, Susie Isom, Birdie Treece and Dorothy Davis; uncles, Donell Tate, Jack Tate, Frank Tate, John Davis, David Davis, Sr., Carson Harris, Raymond Nance, Castle Treece, David Treece, Jake Isom, and Rev. Dr. Ernest Davis, Jr.; cousins, Anthony L. Williams, Sr., Kimberly Treece, David Davis, Jr., and Gordon Tate.
Lewis leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 37 years, Tomika Davis of Severn, MD; his daughter Breshay Davis of Severn, MD; sons, Lance Davis of Severn, MD and Jeremy Lawson of Reidsville, NC; grandchildren, Aydin Davis of Severn, MD, Isabella Davis of Lehigh Acres, FL, Donavan Davis of Laurel, MD; father, Rev. Albert L. (Carolyn) Davis of Morristown, TN; sisters, Regina Kim Davis of Marietta, GA and Natia (Brandon) Ellis of Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Lisa Simpson and brother in-law, Dale Simpson of Nashville, TN; aunts, Barbara Treece, Flora Nance, Lady Linda Treece, Cleo Harris, and Mary Isom; uncles, Rev. Billy (Kathy) Davis, George Davis (Vickie), Charles (Pamela)Tate, Lacy (Pauline) Tate, Ben Isom, and Jerry (Della) Tate; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Visitation will take place at 1:00 PM. Homegoing Service will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment to immediately follow at Russellville Cemetery. Rev. Albert L. Davis will be officiating the services. Military honors will be rendered by the US Navy and VFW Post #5266. Masks will be required.
