Matthew Harold Lumpkins, age 23, of Mooresburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 8, 2015. He was a member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church and the Tennessee Army National Guard Troop D Regimental Support Squadron 278th Armored Calvary Regiment and worked at Sekisui TA. He was preceded in death by his papaws, Desmond Lumpkins and Mack Atkins. Survivors include his parents, Harold and Tammy Lumpkins; sister, Tamara (Derek) Stump; brother, Alec Lumpkins; grandmothers, Barbara Vaughn and Kathleen Lumpkins; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. with Larry Owens, Emerson Lumpkins, and Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Dean Cemetery on Friday at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Military honors will be provided by TN National Guard. Pallbearers will be: Mark Thompson, Alec Lumpkins, Seth Parvin, Robert Weber, Victor Combs, and Tristan Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua and Johnny Carpenter. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening prior to the services at the funeral home. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.
