Robert “Bob” Mathews, age 76, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Mathews; parents, Edward and Veda Mathews; and brother, James Mathews. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria Mathews; children, Brenda (Bryon) Bush and Steven (Michelle) Mathews; grandchildren, Andrew, Casey, and Hanah; sisters, Carol (James) Lafreniere and Cindy (Peter) Hyduke; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bryon Bush officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Thursday morning at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #5266. Services are under the direction of Stubblefield Funeral Home.
