Ruby Jane Grubb, age 81, of Bean Station, born April 12, 1932, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2013 after a lingering illness. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Grubb; daughter, Carolyn Grubb; parents, Lee and Elva Nichols; and sister, Helen Madon. She is survived by her sisters, Bolena (Johnny) Harrell of Bean Station, Alice (Walen) Trent of Morristown, Dorothy (Charles) Barkwell of Vero Beach, FL, and Lorine “Tootsie” (Charlie) Fisher of Morristown; brother, Clyde Nichols of Kyles Ford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Thursday, August 19, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. Rev. Dallas Tharp will officiate. Family and friends will meet at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, VA on Friday at 11:45 a.m. for a 12:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening prior to the service. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
