Sharon (Vickie) Whittaker, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Waiting to welcome her home was her father, William H. Dub Horner, her sister, Emily Horner and grandson, Tristan Lemka.
Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Jean Horner, her children: Scott and Michelle Whittaker, Tony and April Whittaker, Amy and Jason Lemka, and Adam and Lynsey Whittaker. Grandchildren: Emma, Cody, and Cayden Whittaker; Dylan McCoy (Tiffany), Magan Surber, Madison Lowry, Tanner and Makenna Lemka, Telissa Lemka, Taylor Lemka, Austin, Colt, Emerie, Noah and Landon Whittaker. Great grandchildren: Taytum Lemka, Jasiah Stephens, Jameson Weems, Hunter and Koen McCoy, and Kenslee Smith. Brothers: Tim and Allison Horner and Bryon and Tina Horner; sister Beth and Scott Long.
She was a longstanding member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years where she served as piano player and Sunday School teacher for many years.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with services to follow with Rev. Gary Dalton, Rev. Greg Ellison and Rev. Franklin Barnette officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 am in Cedar Grove Church Cemetery.
