Tony Ray Wheeler

Tony was known for his kind-hearted nature, his giving spirit and his love for God, his family, and his community. Tony was a devoted husband, a loving father, and friend to anyone who knew him.

Tony attended Bulls Gap High School and later furthered his education at East Tennessee State University. In 1993 Tony became a founding partner at Stewart & Wheeler PC where he worked for over three decades.

In his free time, Tony enjoyed working on his farm chasing cows and tending to his garden. Tony also found joy in hiking with his beloved wife Sheila, working at the barn with his son Stewart, and spoiling his cat, Lily, and grand dogs, Asher and Hannah.

Tony was a faithful member of First Baptist Morristown, where he served in their Media Ministry for many years.

Tony will be deeply missed by his wife, Sheila Wheeler, son, Stewart (Katie) Wheeler, sister, Carolyn (Barry) Wolf, brother, Jimmy (Debby) Wheeler, nephew, Tommy (Christy) Davis, nephew, Chris Davis, great nephews, Justin (Hannah) Davis and Ryan Davis, and his great niece, Alyssa Davis. He was also survived by his in-laws, Bob (Doris) Miller, brother-in-law, Eddie (Sheila) Miller, and sister-in-law, Misty Owens. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Mack Wheeler, his mother, Jacque Bireley, and his sister-in-law, Jessica Dalton.

A receiving of friends for Tony will be held at First Baptist Morristown on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 4-6 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6 PM. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10 AM at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
