Viola Marie Stroud

Marie was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and lived most of her life in Whitesburg, Tennessee, where she built a life rooted in love, family, and faith.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Allen Stroud; her daughters, Miranda (Daniel) O’Bryan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Melinda Stroud of the home; and her beloved grandchildren, Daylen, David, Scout, and Skye.

She is also survived by her siblings: her sister, Helen Tuttle (Junior); her brother, Raymond Owens (preceded in death by his wife, Betty); her sister, Kathy Eads (Wade); her brother, Larry Owens (Sherry); her sister, Lynne Hilton (Tony); her brother, Bobby Owens (Peggy); along with several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wheeler and Cornie Owens; her brother, Leroy Owens; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.T. and Betty Stroud; and her precious grandbabies, Lincoln and Conner.

Marie was known as an amazing wife, mother, sister, and friend. Above all else, she lived for Jesus. Her faith guided every part of her life, and she shared His love through her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Marie’s legacy is one of love, faith, and a heart that always put others first. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, 276 Quarryville Road, Mooresburg, Tennessee.
