

Wayne H. Dollar, age 83, of Morristown, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 with his family by his side at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He worked at American Enka, BASF and then finally at Lenzing Fibers before retiring with over 35 years of service. He made many memories and friends while there whom he still remembered fondly. He was also a staunch patriot, who served his country first in the US Army then the Army Reserves. Away from work, Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman with his best friend, Amos Greene and his son, David. His special daughter, Elaine, gave him much joy and happiness, as well, through her bright smile and loving personality. Another point of pride with him was his grandchildren. He felt blessed to be able to watch them grow and play sports throughout their school years. Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife, Stella in 2011 and his brother, Larry the following year.
Wayne is survived by his son, David and wife, Carla; his daughter, Elaine; five grandchildren, Taylor (Lindsey), Shelby, Emily, Mattie and Landon Dollar; and loving sister, Brenda and husband, Sid Caradine of Mississippi.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at First Christian Church. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. JR Hengehold officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. for a Noon graveside service.
