Betty Gertrude Reed

Betty was born on Aug. 12, 1924 in Belgrade, Mont. She moved to Washington state in 1941 and married Paul Reed on June. 27,1942.

She was a resident of Morton for more than 71 years.

She was a fulltime homemaker and mother to three children.

She is survived by a daughter, Paulette (Bill) Redick of Morton and son Michael (Jill) Reed of Salkum; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; a daughter, Patricia McGrath; a grandson, Randy Redick; a sister, Mildred Heinselman; and a brother, Charles M. Metcalf.

The family would like to acknowledge caregivers Barbara, Jessie, Marsha, and Myrna for making it possible for mother to remain in her own home. And a special thanks to Morton Hospital staff, Dr. Mark Hansen and Nancy Pedersen for their loving care and concern.

A graveside service will at 11 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2013 at the Morton Cemetery with Pastor Bill Shepherd officiating. At her request, there will be no additional services or reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Church of God Women’s fund.
