HAROLD LAWRENCE COONTS
November 18, 1969 - March 10, 2022
In the early morning hours of March 10, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones, Jesus came and took Larry home to God. No longer is he suffering and in pain, and now we have the most handsome Guardian Angel looking over all of us until we meet again in Heaven.
Larry was born in Merrill, Wisconsin to Darlene Beinfang Coonts on November 18, 1969. They moved to Missouri when he was a young child and he grew up his whole life in the Ava & Mountain Grove area. He graduated high school in Mountain Grove Missouri in 1987 and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps with his MOS 8541 – Marine Corps Scout Sniper. Even after he discharged, he lived his whole life so proud of his service – Semper Fi.
After his time in the Marines, Larry became a welder. Not just your typical welder, but he was one of the best in the field of Stainless Food Grade pipe welding. He traveled near and far wherever he was needed, and the only state he never made it to was Maine. Because of the strain on his knees from the military & welding, he hung up his hood in 2015. He and his wife Cindy who was the love of his life decided to start a new venture as Lodge Manager’s in Washington. It was our home for the last 7 years right up to Larry’s passing.
Larry had a love of many things….. He loved football and he was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan his whole life and he shared this passion with his daughter Melissa. He also loved racing, whether it was Nascar, Street Outlaws, Truck Pulling, it didn’t matter he watched it! He loved going camping and we went as much as we possibly could for the last couple of years – though we didn’t rough it any more. For almost the whole last year hunting was the big thing! Larry and his best friend George were planning the ultimate big game bear hunt in Montana, these two were constantly working on getting everything organized, planned and put together – they were inseparable!
Larry is survived by his soul mate and love of his life, his wife Cindy Coonts, the other loves of his life were his children, step-children and grandchildren – they made his heart so full. Daughter Melissa(Daddy’s Angel) Schnieder(Jacob) grandchildren BriLeigh and Dayten - Colorado, Taylor Coonts (Tyfanny) and family – England, Vandal Pline (Paige) grandchildren Ryder, Rowdy, and Raelyn – Oregon and Logan Pline – Idaho. His very best friend and brother, George Sheline, Becky Sheline, and Jesse (who always called him Uncle Larry)-Washington. He is also survived by his mother Darlene Coonts of Mountain Grove, Mo, brother Rocky and family, and numerous aunts & cousins.
Larry did not want a funeral service. All he wanted was for us to Celebrate his Life. We will have a Celebration of Life for him at a later date.
A Silent Tear
Just close your eyes and you will see
All the memories that you have of me
Just sit and relax and you will find
I'm really there inside your mind
Don't cry for me now I'm gone
For I am in the land of song
There is no pain, there is no fear
So dry away that silent tear
Don't think of me in the dark and cold
For here I am, no longer old
I'm in that place that's filled with love
Known to you all as "up above"
