Clothilde "Nanny" Trahan

Clothilde was born on July 3, 1916 in Milton, Louisiana and had been a resident of Ragley for 74 years. She spent most of her adult life serving the faculty and students of South Beauregard High School, where she retired in 1981. Nanny was an excellent cook and made the world’s best rice dressing. She loved opening her home to family and friends for a quick visit over coffee but especially enjoyed longer visits. The words “ya’ll come back” was always heard from her mouth whenever you left. She never met a stranger and once you met her, you became her family. Clothilde was a longtime devoted member of St. Pius Catholic Church.

She leaves behind four stepchildren; one sister, Althea Thibodeaux of Biloxi, MS; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family, bonded in love, left to cherish her memory are her granddaughter and longtime caregiver, Pamela Greenmun and husband, Scott of Ragley, and their children, Katie and Samantha; Florence & Bob Foreman of Ragley; granddaughter, Jill Crain and husband, Jason of Moss Bluff, and their children, Joshua and Joseph Crain; and grandson, Scott Foreman of Sulphur, and his children, Seth and Callie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Camille Trahan.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, in St. Pius Catholic Church in Ragley. The Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Squyres Methodist Church Cemetery in Ragley under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Pallbearers will be Robert Foreman, Scott Foreman, Scott Greenmun, Jason Crain, Larry Smith, Aaron LeBlanc, Ross Kaufman, and Carl Maturin. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, from 3-9 p.m. A Celebration of Clothilde’s Life will be held during the visitation at 5:30 p.m. followed by a rosary service, all in the funeral home. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the St. Pius Catholic Church Hall until the time of the service. In lieu of donations, “ya’ll” please send flowers.
