He was the best dad you could ever ask for, he always tried his best to make us happy. He always had a smile on his face. I miss him more, and more everyday but I know he is in a better place. I know he will be by my side everyday,  I push forward to make him happy. He was such a sweet, caring person, he always was helping  someone or making my mom and us laugh!

Dennis was a couple of years younger than I was growing up so I went years only remembering my Aunt Tunia’s youngest  boy, but every chance after we grew up and I got to to really know him I was proud to call him family and wish I’d have had more time just like everyone else wishes. My best to the family left behind and the loss we all share with them.

My name is Rhonda and I am Dennis’s 1st cousin. His mom and my dad were siblings. I am a somewhat older then him so I remember all the family get togethers we had. Dennis was the little white haired blue eyed boy that always smiled. He and his brother stayed at our house when his mom was in the hospital for a little while and I had a little white dog. Dennis just loved that little dog. The white haired boy and the white dog, what a pair. Childhood memories. Rest in piece Dennis. I love you. 

Prayers and condolences for the family. I worked with Dennis everyday, at the Houston office for Turner doing Hydroblasting. It was just me and him, Last time I seen Dennis was Wednesday ,we worked the whole day and when we got to the shop Wednesday afternoon around 5pm, he told me ok buddy I see you tommorow same bat time same bat channel. I got to the shop Thursday morning, at 5:45am and he was not there. Everything came in as a shocker. Im gonna miss you Dennis/Swampman, thank you for everything boss,   Things are not gonna be the same without you, I'm gonna miss your every day text, letting me know you are on the way. Fly high Bossman..

My mother Emma  was married to his grandfather, William Raymond, Ray Carlin until his death in 1992.  I know Dennis as a young feller. I knew his dad,Eric had passed but NOT his mom. My family sends our sympathy for the loss. So young. Kate, Katherine Arcenesux.

I met Dennis when he was in his 20's. His laughter, his goofiness, his way to make anyone laugh we're memories I will keep forever.  He touched my family in a way no one else could, I thought of him as an adopted son.  We lost touch, but thought of him and his gang often. We shared good times, his smile would light up a room. Rest in peace Dennis, you will be missed by many.  

My condolences and prayers are with the family. As a child, he was always doing something to make us laugh or getting into mischief. 


By this request of sharing memories......honestly their are too many.  I've known Dennis for 15 + years.  He wore many "hats".  From being a son, a brother, a father, a husband, a boss, a co-worker, a friend and more. As we all do, Dennis had his positive and negative traits. But one will always remain,  his positive attitude.  It always outshined the negative. If I had to name one thing that stood out the most, it was his attitude not to care what others thought. He made his decisions his way and nobody else's. 
 It didn't matter what or who was against him he always handled situations the best he knew how. And for that he was judged by so many people including family members. But he never let that affect his mindset. He was a great friend and always had the time to listen.  I have yet to meet a more devoted man to his family. No matter what was thrown at him and Alicia he was dedicated and loved his wife and his kids. He was Gavyin's best friend and Gavyin was his. When I think about Gavin's future I see Dennis on the sidelines of the football field cheering him on because that was the goal they set together.  And I know that although he is no longer with this in body he is in spirit and especially to his wife and children. Loving devoted man will be utterly missed by me and so many others. He had an impact on my life which I just realized it recently. Dennis James Carlin it was an honor and a great pleasure to call you my friend. May you rest in peace.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Alicia Thomas Carlin of Moss Bluff; son, Gavyen Carlin of Moss Bluff; daughters, Hannah, Isebella and Catherine Carlin of Moss Bluff; brother, Eric Carlin of Moss Bluff; father and mother in-law, Garland and Kathy Thomas of Moss Bluff. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Eric and Geraldine Marceaux Carlin, Sr.
