
Eugene was born in Church Point, Louisiana on December 11, 1945. Eugene served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 and married his wife Margaret Anderson Daigle in 1967. They made their home in Westlake for over forty years. He worked for PPG Industries for 31 years. He was an active member of the American Legion Post #179 in Sulphur and Detachment Commander for the Sons of the American Legion. Eugene was also a former member of the Cajun French Music Association. In his early years, he was the drummer for the Church Point Playboys.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Daigle Sr. and Rita, and a daughter, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Daigle of Westlake, two sons, Eddie Daigle and wife, Penny of Grand Lake and Earl Daigle and wife Mary Beth of Moss Bluff, grandsons, Owen and Carson Daigle; brother, Jules Daigle and wife, Judy of Lawtell, Louisiana, nephew, Chris Daigle; niece, Kim Shields and a host of other relatives and friends.
Eugene, Eug, Paw-Paw, he answered to many names, but they all meant the same. He may have been a man of few words, but once he started talking about a subject that he liked, you could hardly get him to stop. He loved his family & his family loved him.
A celebration of Eugene’s life will be held at 6pm on Monday, July 10, 2017, at St. Andrews’s Episcopal Church, located at 1532 Sam Houston Jones Parkway, Moss Bluff, LA. Visitation will begin at 4 pm until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church or the American Legion Post # 179.
