Jimmy Harper

Mr. Harper was married to his wife, Mary, for 28 years. He was born in Glencoe, Al and had currently been residing in Ragley, LA. He was an avid outdoorsman, and before retiring in May of 1993, worked 33 years as a state inspector for the Department of Transportation. Mr. Harper also served in the United Sates Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Harper; children, Jimmie Lynn Dorsey and husband Michael, John William Harper and wife Melanie, Jeffery Harper, Alex Cagle and wife Melinda, and Bill Cagle and wife Ashley; grandchildren; Jamie Casey and husband Matt, Joshua Cutler, Lexi Cagle, Cody Gray, Mary Elizabeth Cagle, and Brandy Ziros; great grandchildren, Briana Casey and Bryleigh Ziros. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Curtis Harper and Zora Leek Harper; and grandchild, Preston Cagle.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, LA. Bro. Glenn Ducharme will officiate. Pallbearers to serve are John Harper, Michael Dorsey, Jeffery Harper, Brian Ivey, Joshua James, and Joshua Cutler. Honorary Pallbearers are Lexi Cagle, Jimmie Lynn Dorsey, and Bill Cagle. Burial will be at Creel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, LA.
