Joel Keith McMichael, 37, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023. He was born in Lake Charles on September 25, 1985 to Keith and Susan. He attended Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff and found work building scaffolds as a contractor soon after graduating. Later in his career, he earned a Commercial Drivers License and found joy driving cross-country.
Cherished and beloved by his friends and family, Joel is best known for his big heart of gold, jovial demeanor, and goofy sense of humor. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, video games, attending concerts, and watching movies. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Joel is preceded in death by his father Keith McMichael, his paternal grandmother Bobbie Beauxis McMichael, and fraternal grandparents Lettie and Donald F. Meddows. He is survived by his younger brother David, his mother Susan, and paternal grandfather Jon McMichael.
Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Rev Gary Eavers will officiate services.
