Joan was born to Clyde and Irene Casey in Haskell County, TX, on January 28, 1929. After living in many places while her father worked for the Humble Pipeline, they settled in Corpus Christi, TX, where she graduated from high school and met her husband, Wayne Dugger. They married June 03, 1950, and had two children, Linda Dugger Barrett (husband Terry) of Moss Bluff, and Wayne Alan Dugger (wife Donna) of Semmes, AL. and one sister, Doris Mason of Odessa, TX.
Together, Wayne and Joan enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, trips to Padre Island, and Bible study. After retiring from education, they earned their pilot's license, purchased an airplane, and also became licensed hand-gun carriers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson, Jason Dugger.
Those left to honor her life are her children, 6 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren to whom she awarded college scholarships.
Visitation for Joan will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 am at Hixson Moss Bluff.
Burial will be held at Seaside Funeral Home and Cemetery at 4357 Ocean Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78412, on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:30 a.m.
