Marjorie Viola Melton

Marjorie was born on January 17, 1937 in Franklin, Michigan and lived in Moss Bluff, LA for 47 years. She attended Moss Bluff First Baptist Church. She loved children, gardening, cooking, antiques and most of all serving her Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She never met a stranger. The loves of her life were her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband of 47 years, Charles “Pete” Melton; 2 daughters, Shirley Miller and husband, Bob, Tina Battles and husband, Brian; 4 grandchildren, Alexis Simpson and husband, Jimmy, Anthony and Sarah Miller, and Ivan Battles; 4 great grandchildren, Riley and Abbie Simpson, Claire and McKenzie Miller; and also her beloved 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Her funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Rev. Vernon Chevallier will officiate. Burial will be in New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
