Love Mrs. Strickland. She taught me in the 5th grade and was my favorite teacher. As I got older we became friends. Went on many trips with her with the church. She was a joy to be around. I've known Mrs Strick all my life and went to school with her children. She bought our little church every hardback red hymnbook in our church. The front of the book has her name in it, I will always think of her when we open them to sing or to play a hymn out of it. Thank you for your big, generous heart Mrs. Strick. I know you are experiencing all those old wonderful hymns now.

What sweet memories I have of Juaneil, I met her when she was just 16, she came to our little church in Winn parish to play for a revival. My Aunt Charlene came along to be with her. Well to make a looong story short, she met our handsome neighbor James Strickland and the rest is history. we have stayed in touch all these years . We will miss her so much, but she in her Heavenly home with her loved ones who have gone on before her. Loved her so much.

Mick became our ‘proxy’ grandma way back in 1996❤️ As neighbors on Tomahawk Dr, Stan & I frequently visited she & Mr. James for coffee, as James would let baby Jordan waggle his 3 fingered hand and gently laugh at Jordan. Mick was the person I called when Abby was coming laaaate Jan 20, 1998!!! She raced over to sit with Jordan as we went to the hospital. She was one of the 1st to hold lil Abby💗
Although we moved across the highway, we never lost touch. The Strickland’s - every one of them- are special people! Always a special place in our hearts.
I picture Mick & James drinkin coffee in grand rocking chairs at their mansion preparing to sing praise to their Father🙏

She was counselor at Arnett when I was in eighth grade. I went to her crying once and she began pulling one tissue after another in a comical fashion. She helped me that day and am sure that she was there for many others as well. I am grateful for the 89 years that the Lord gave her.

I first met Mrs. Strickland over 49+ years ago. She was a true friend to so many people including my mother Dora Lee, Uncle Bruce and Aunt Martha. I can still remember her at her Daddy's church, Bellview Baptist, playing the piano and always had a smile on her face. When I turned 50 years old, she reprimanded me for getting a tattoo which at that time I didn't know it was forbidden. Even then, she felt close enough to me to tell me cause she watched me grow up. She is sorely missed but all of her reunions in heaven are such a blessing to us here below. My love and prayers to Keith and Kaylon!

To the family of a very special lady & friend to the Mt Zion Methodist church. It was always such a blessing to have her come & celebrate Home coming with us each year in May even after your dad passed away. We were blessed to have her play the piano for us as a part of our service her last visit 1 year ago. Her memory will always be with us as a very special part of this church. I will miss seeing her sweet face on facebook & hearing about all of the fun and wonderful things she was involved in. Love & prayers to each one of you.

Juaneil played the piano and organ at our annual meetings of the Walnut Hill Cemetery for many years. Her parents and other family members are buried there, and this Cemetery is located about 15 miles from Leesville. She was a huge supporter of the Cemetery and an active participant at our meetings. She will be sorely missed.

If you knew Aunt Juaneil you knew she celebrated her July 4th birthday for the whole month of July.. I will cherish our Birthday luncheons with her and my two sisters. Aunt Juaneil was a great comfort to us during my Mother’s illness and passing several years back. I especially cherish our front porch talks during this COVID pandemic. I know it was a comfort
to her as well as treasured moments to myself during self enforced distancing. I will greatly miss her.

Juaneil was a wonderful lady. I first met her at the Seniors luncheon 2 years ago at First Baptist Moss Bluff, where she would beautifully accompany the hymn singing, which brought so much peace to my heart. She was such a sweet, cheerful person, who as I often told her, reminded me so much of my favorite Christian aunt (a very warm personality, calming, pretty white hair, and friendly.) I am so sorry..... I will miss her!

I can just see Mom, Mrs. Whitard, Mrs. Foster, Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. Benoit, and Mrs. Strickland now. Mrs. Whitard will tell her she was always late. What a reunion. And what a loss for us. They were so much fun and loved each other so much it was always a joy to be with them. One day we will see them again and rejoice. We need to remember the two that are left.
Sorry for your loss (and ours). Linda & Bonnie
