

Jimmy Guidry, 73, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in a local hospital, he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Cyrus Guidry, Sr. and Stella DeMary Guidry in Sweetlake, LA. Jimmy was a graduate of Grandlake High School and a veteran of the US Army. He was a long time resident of Sulphur, La. and retired from Conoco Refinery as a welder. Jimmy loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed gatherings with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus Guidry Sr., and Stella DeMary, his brother Cyrus Guidry, former wife Emma Lois Fontenot and his grandson Brandon Chase Broussard.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Stephanie Meche and husband Michael of Moss Bluff, Michelle Guidry-Streeter of Lake Arthur, Jamie Hart and husband Darrell of Moss Bluff: two brothers Connie Mack (Linda) Guidry, Bobby (Anne) Guidry, four sister Opal Babineaux, Alice (Vertis) Jackson, Bonnie Guidry and Stella Logan; eight grandchildren, Jody Paul (Tabitha) Broussard, Cody (Cicely) Guidry, Jacob Streeter, Alexandra (James) Lohnes, Taylor Simon, Dylan Meche, Tyler Meche and Maddison Meche; seven great – grandchildren, Cruz, Kennedy, Maddox, Chandler, Benjamin, Chase, and Phinley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, LA. Service will be Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff with Msgr. Dubois officiating and burial at Ritchie Cemetery.
