Shirley Ann Smith, 80, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, Roy and Versey Christianson on February 17, 1943 in Kurthwood, Louisiana.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. Shirley was very involved with various church and community organizations throughout her life. She took great pride in being a grandmother and great grandmother and never took that lightly. Shirley and her late husband Larry cherished the times that they took the grandchildren to the camp at Kisatchie and to Disney World at various times.
She is survived by her son, Bob Caldwell, Jr. (Bridget) of Gillis, Louisiana; daughter, Rebecca Heller (Bill) of Gillis, Louisiana; step son, Keith Smith of Sulphur, Louisiana; step daughters, Kelli Jackson of Shreveport, Louisiana and Kristal Franklin (David) of LeBleu Settlement, Louisiana; one brother, Bill Christianson of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her fur baby, Mr. Fritz.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Larry Smith; her parents; along with her brother, Kenneth Christianson.
A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, Louisiana on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00 am, with Bro. Bill Saxby officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, Louisiana on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff, Louisiana.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for her caregivers, Samantha Dugas and Karen Batiste, along with their families for the love and care they showed and gave to Shirley and her family.
